Summer is in full swing, the farmers markets are buzzing and garlic scapes are plenty!  An overdose of garlic scapes seemed possible in my realm of things but alas I warn you it was not.  Even after two weeks of continuous garlic escapades, I can’t seem to get enough of these very fragrant and pungent  herbs.  Wait a minute, did I say herb.  Is it a herb or is it a vegetable I ask?

Ghee Goor and Roti – Crumbled Roti Sweetened with Jaggery

Ghee, goor and roti is my go-to comfort food.  I’ve turned to it on countless occasions to pacify my emotional well being.  This is such an endearing sweet meal and is close to my heart.  It gently screams to me of family, togetherness, good friends and most importantly being loved.  And with Valentines Day around the corner, Ghee, goor and roti makes the perfect dish to be shared amongst the people you care most about.

Roti – an Indian Flatbread

Roti is a much loved staple in my home.  The kids love it as an afternoon snack smeared with ghee, liberally sprinkled with sugar and rolled into a tube they can hold in their hands and greedily chomp away.
